The Washington Redskins have slumped to a fifth consecutive defeat having been shut out in a 24-0 loss to the St Louis Rams this evening.
Both sides struggled to make significant ground on offense throughout the first half, with Jared Cook supplying the only points when he collected a Shaun Hill pass and raced down the middle for a 35-yard score.

The accuracy of Greg Zuerlein didn't help things for the Rams as he missed the extra point kick as well as wasting two field goals in the first half.
He was on target midway through the third quarter, however, splitting the uprights with a 34-yard kick that extended his side's lead to nine points.
That sparked something of a scoring spree for the Rams, who increased their lead shortly afterwards when Hill and Cook combined again for a one-yard score.
St Louis put the game beyond doubt late in the third as Tavon Austin made his way around the defence before sprinting in for a 78-yard punt return.
Neither side could trouble the scorers in the final quarter as the Rams saw the match out to pick up their sixth win of the season, while the Redskins drop to 3-10.
