Marshawn Lynch to get bumper new deal at Seattle Seahawks?

Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch could be in line for a major contract extension at the franchise, according to a report.

The Seattle Seahawks and star running back Marshawn Lynch are reportedly talking about the prospect of a major contract extension.

NFL Media insider Ian Rapoport has suggested that Lynch could be offered a new deal to potentially see out a large remainder of his playing days with the franchise, with the extension possibly seeing him earning $10m [£6.6m] in the 2015 season alone.

As it stands under his current contract, Lynch is set to earn $5m [£3.3m] next year, with the the 28-year-old moving into the final term of a four-year deal originally worth $31m [£20.5m].

Lynch has been in standout form for the Seahawks of late, having reached at least 1,200 yards in each of his past four seasons in the NFL.
