The San Diego Chargers have announced that they will continue to use their Qualcomm Stadium next season.
A lease was struck between the city of San Diego and the team in 2007 which allowed the Chargers to terminate their use of the arena at any time between February and May of each calendar year.
Each season, the Chargers have chosen to renew their lease for the next campaign, although there is still a hope that they can secure permission build a new stadium in the city.
Chargers spokesman Michael Fabiani told ESPN: "The team is continuing to work, as we have for more than a decade, on stadium solutions in San Diego, and for that reason, we will not be triggering the out clause in our lease for Qualcomm in 2014."
The franchise recently announced that prices for season-ticket holders will remain unchanged next season, the sixth time in seven seasons that they have not increased.
The Chargers enjoyed a surprising run to the playoffs during the 2013 season.
