700,000 attend Seattle Seahawks victory parade

Hundreds of thousands of fans line the streets to celebrate the Seattle Seahawks winning Super Bowl XLVIII.

The Seattle Seahawks have paraded the Super Bowl trophy around their home city, with 700,000 supporters turning out to greet them.

The Seahawks dominated the Denver Broncos on Sunday night in New York to win their first ever championship, returning home the following day.

Today, head coach Pete Carroll led the celebrations from a team float, which toured the streets of the city lined with fans.

Television station Kiro 7 revealed via their Twitter account that 565 teachers and 13,523 students had been reported absent from Seattle public schools this morning.
