Adrian Peterson not expected to feature in pre-season carries

Minnesota Vikings coach Mike Zimmer suggests that returning running back Adrian Peterson will not feature in pre-season snaps this summer.

Minnesota Vikings coach Mike Zimmer has suggested that the returning Adrian Peterson will not see proper game time until the start of the regular season.

Adrian has recently made a comeback to the side following controversial issues in his personal life, but given his age and experience Zimmer does not feel that he needs to rush the player into action before the new campaign gets underway.

"I probably don't see that, no," Zimmer told the St Paul Pioneer Press when asked whether Peterson would take pre-season snaps.

"We're talking in June, so you can't hold me to it, but he's carried the ball a lot [during his career] and he's going to continue to carry the ball a lot. He'll get plenty of looks and reps in practice."

Peterson has spent the entirety of his NFL career at the Vikings since being acquired in the 2007 Draft.
