Wade Phillips: 'I wouldn't want to miss out on being head coach'

Houston Texans interim head coach Wade Phillips reveals that he wants to become the permanent boss of the club.

Wade Phillips has revealed that he would not want to miss the chance to become the permanent head coach of the Houston Texans to remain defensive coordinator.

Phillips was handed interim control of the team following the firing of Gary Kubiak last week.

"I would never say that, because then they wouldn't hire you as the head coach," he told reporters. "I'm not going to fall for that one."

The Texans have lost 11 straight games and are 2-11 in their season.
