Former Houston Texans head coach Gary Kubiak has expressed his gratitude to everyone at the club for their support during his seven-year tenure.
Kubiak was fired by the Texans following their 11th straight defeat of the season as they lost 27-20 to the Jacksonville Jaguars, leaving them 2-11 in their campaign.
He said in a statement on the club's official website: "I want thank the players and coaches for all the work they have put in during my years with the Texans.
"Though we came up short this season, the work, effort and sacrifice they gave me and this organisation over the last eight seasons is not to be taken for granted.
"We had a great run here and we will never forget our back-to-back AFC South Championships. Coming back home was a dream come true for all of us. This will always be our home. Thank you."
Defensive coordinator Wade Phillips has been handed charge of the team until the end of the season.
