Bob McNair: 'Ideal candidate will have NFL experience'

Houston Texans owner Bob McNair reveals that his ideal candidate to replace Gary Kubiak will have previous head coaching experience in the NFL.

Houston Texans owner Bob McNair has revealed that his ideal candidate to replace Gary Kubiak would have previous head coaching experience in the NFL.

The Texans parted company with Kubiak following the club's 11th straight defeat this season as they lost 27-20 to the Jacksonville Jaguars to drop to 2-11 in the campaign.

"We would like someone who has had head coaching experience, but has also had NFL experience," McNair told reporters.

"It's a combination of those two things would be the ideal situation and there are people who meet those conditions."

Defensive coordinator Wade Phillips is currently the interim head coach of the Texans.
