Houston Texans pass rusher Jadeveon Clowney is still not ready to return to action, as he continues to recover from knee surgery.
The 22-year-old underwent microfracture surgery in December, and the team hoped to have him fit by training camp.
However, he has been placed on the active/physically unable to perform list and can be kept on there for a maximum of six weeks.
NFL Media claims that the Texans hope that he will be fit to play in week one of the season, and expect to see him back in training by the end of August.
Clowney made five tackles in four games last season.
