Half-Time Report: Green Bay Packers lead Minnesota Vikings through Jordy Nelson brace

Jordy Nelson splits a pair of huge punt return touchdowns as the Green Bay Packers build a 24-17 half-time advantage over the Minnesota Vikings.

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Jordy Nelson has been the star of the show so far tonight against the Minnesota Vikings, scoring two touchdowns to help the visitors build a 24-17 lead at the half.

Minnesota went into this evening's clash with just one win from six but got off to a perfect start in the opening possession, with Cordarrelle Patterson scoring on a 109-yard kickoff return.

The Packers recovered from that setback quickly as Aaron Rodgers found his range, leading a sustained drive which ended with Nelson collecting an 11-yard pass in the endzone.

Both teams traded field goals early in the second quarter before Green Bay ruthlessly exposed a hole in the Vikings defence.

Rodgers and Nelson were once again the deadly duo on target, exploiting gaping holes in the Vikings defence as Nelson raced through for a 76-yard pass.

With 90 seconds left in the first half Green Bay matched Patterson's early effort to score on a huge punt return of their own, as Micah Hyde ran unopposed for 93 yards to leave the visitors in complete control.

There was still time before the interval for Minnesota to keep the match interesting though, as Adrian Peterson burst through the line to finish a 77-yard scoring drive that took only 86 seconds.
