Gary Kubiak pleased with Denver Broncos progress

New Denver Broncos head coach Gary Kubiak admits that he is pleased with the progress that his players are making in learning his offensive system.

Denver Broncos head coach Gary Kubiak feels that his side are making excellent progress in the development of their new offensive system.

The AFC West outfit hired Kubiak to replace John Fox following the club's elimination in the divisional round of the 2014 playoffs by the Indianapolis Colts.

Kubiak is renowned in the NFL for a system which bases its play off the running game and play-action, and he has revealed that the Broncos are picking up the scheme very well.

"Crossing the schemes, so to speak, was very, very easy. It was really more about verbiage than anything else," Kubiak told the team's official website.

"What I tried to do is the things that were very close, I tried to hang on to the verbiage that they had been talking here in the past, because I think that made it easier for the players.

"The things that were new, we hung on to the verbiage that I used throughout my career. Peyton [Manning] and the guys have adjusted to that very well. But I don't see that being very difficult. Ball is ball, and scheme - how you go about it - a lot of it's the same. We've made a lot of progress, especially this first week."

Kubiak was previously the head coach of the Houston Texans, where he guided the club to a 63-66 record in his eight seasons at Reliant Stadium.
