Gary Kubiak plans to have a number of talks with Peyton Manning

New Denver Broncos coach Gary Kubiak says that he will continue to speak with Peyton Manning regarding the quarterback's future in football.

New Denver Broncos coach Gary Kubiak has admitted that Peyton Manning will take some time to decide whether he will carry on playing football next season.

Since losing to the Indianapolis Colts in the divisional round, suspicion has been rife that Manning will retire from the game at the age of 38.

Despite Kubiak only being handed his new role on Tuesday, reporters were keen to question him on his star man's future.

The coach told reporters: "Yes, Peyton and I have talked. We talked a couple of days ago at length, talked a little bit last night via text and those type of things.

"We talked about a lot of stuff, but the bottom line, we've basically come to the conclusion that we're gonna get together and sit down. I know he's got some things going on, family things right now, and obviously, I've got a lot going on here.

"The thing I wanna do is I wanna be the best support system I can be for Peyton. We've had some very good conversations, and we'll have many more."

As an Indianapolis Colt, Manning won the only Super Bowl title of his career so far in 2007.
