Dallas Cowboys coach Jason Garrett has praised his side's running during their 24-20 win over the Miami Dolphins in yesterday's Hall of Fame game.
Garrett challenged his team to improve their running of the ball at the start of their pre-season training camp, and the new philosophy was clear to see as they made 34 carries - a tally they only bettered once during the whole of last season.
Garrett was pleased with the variety of running shown by his backs, but was keen to stress that it was only the start of what he hopes to eventually achieve.
"I thought it was a good start running the football," Garrett told reporters.
"We ran it well. We ran it a few different ways. We ran it inside. We ran on the edge. I thought the backs ran hard."
The Cowboys will start the new NFL season against the New York Giants on September 8.
