Buffalo Bills win despite Johnny Manziel effort

The Buffalo Bills secure a 26-10 win over the Cleveland Browns despite Johnny Manziel coming off the bench to lead a fourth-quarter comeback.

Billy Cundiff opened the scoring following a slow start to the game, kicking a field goal for the visitors after Terrance West came up just short of the endzone with a run.

The kicker had a chance to double their lead in the second quarter, but he sliced the effort wide of the right upright from just 37 yards out.

The Bills also turned to their kicker in the first half, but Dan Carpenter's long attempt was blocked by the Browns.

Buffalo looked stronger in the third quarter, and got off the mark when Kyle Orton connected with Chris Hogan for the first touchdown of the game.

The Bills were in again a few moments later as Jerry Hughes stripped the ball from Brian Hoyer before returning it for a touchdown.

Carpenter was back on early in the fourth quarter, adding two field goals to extend the AFC East side's advantage to 17 points.

Needing a win to keep pace with their divisional rivals, the Browns made a switch at quarterback, sending rookie Manziel on for his first extended spell under center since being drafted.

The former Heisman Trophy winner made an immediate impact, rushing for a 10-yard touchdown on his first complete NFL drive.

The quarterback tried to get the Browns back into a scoring position again, but Carpenter added a couple more late field goals to ensure that the Bills saw out the win.

The win moves the Bills to 7-5, sitting two wins behind the New England Patriots in the AFC East, while the Brown sit last in the AFC North with the same record.
