Brian Hoyer wants to claim starting role

Cleveland Browns star Brian Hoyer believes his performance against the Tennessee Titans was enough to establish himself as their starting quarterback.

Cleveland Browns quarterback Brian Hoyer believes that he has shown that he is capable of being the franchise's starting signal caller after his display against the Tennessee Titans.

The Browns staged a record comeback to seal a 29-28 win over their rivals on Sunday, with Hoyer instrumental in their victory.

"I think being from here and having the success I did, I think I showed the people of Cleveland that I was more than capable of being their quarterback," Hoyer said, according to FOX Sports.

Hoyer also dismissed speculation that he and fellow quarterback Johnny Manziel don't get on as competition for selection heats up this season.

The Browns star conceded that they are not best friends but insisted that the franchise has a "great quarterback room".
