Cleveland Browns head coach Mike Pettine has revealed that Brian Hoyer will not be pulled from the lineup at the first sign of problems on his side's offense.
Hoyer was named the club's starter ahead of first-round Draft pick Johnny Manziel, and Pettine has said that the 28-year-old will be given a full opportunity to thrive in the role.
He told reporters: "This is your team, this is your offense. We have his back. We didn't go with him and just say, 'Hey, listen. We might do this and see how it goes and after a series, we might switch it back.'
"I don't think you can do that -- I know you can't do that at quarterback... It's not going to be a quick hook."
The Browns face the Pittsburgh Steelers in their season opener on Sunday.
