Half-Time Report: Chicago Bears in control against Carolina Panthers

Jay Cutler completes two touchdown passes and rushes for a score to help the Chicago Bears to a 21-14 lead over the Carolina Panthers.

The Chicago Bears have headed into half time with a 21-14 lead over the Carolina Panthers in their NFL game at the Bank of America Stadium this evening.

The Panthers opened the scoring when Corey Brown returned a Pat O'Donnell punt 63 yards, despite taking a hit before making the catch.

Cam Newton tried to set up rookie Kelvin Benjamin to double their advantage, but the first-year wide receiver fumbled the ball, giving possession back to Chicago.

The Bears quickly leveled the scores when Jay Cutler completed a short pass to Matt Forte, who ran the ball the rest of the way for a touchdown.

The quarterback ran the ball in himself before the end of the first quarter to put Chicago ahead for the first time, before completing a 25-yard effort to Alshon Jeffery to extend their lead further.

While looking to get his team back into the game, Newton threw an interception to Lance Briggs, but the quarterback recovered to find tight end Greg Olsen in the final seconds of the half, leaving the home side just a touchdown behind at the break.
