Buffalo Bills GM Doug Whaley keen to extend Marcell Dareus deal

Buffalo Bills general manager Doug Whaley admits that the club are keen to tie defensive tackle Marcell Dareus to a long-term contract in the near future.

Buffalo Bills general manager Doug Whaley has revealed that the club will focus on securing a long-term contract with defensive tackle Marcell Dareus once the NFL Draft has concluded.

The 25-year-old has excelled at the heart of the AFC East side's defense for the past five seasons since he was selected third overall in the 2011 Draft, but is under contract for just one further campaign as the Bills exercised his fifth-year option.

Whaley is adamant that the club are keen to tie the All-Pro down to a long-term contract once they have finished with their off-season recruitment.

He told reporters: "He will be priority number one once the dust settles post-Draft maybe even before then, just to get the ball rolling."

Dareus has recorded 202 tackles and 28.5 sacks in his four years with the Bills.
