John Harbaugh: New England Patriots were "deceptive"

Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh feels that the New England Patriots employed "deceptive" tactics to beat his team in the divisional round of the AFC playoffs.

Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh has claimed that the New England Patriots used "deceptive" tactics in the divisional-round playoff win over his team.

The Patriots rallied back twice from 14-point deficits to secure their place in the AFC championship game for the fourth straight year.

However, Harbaugh was not happy with some of their methods, which included using four offensive linemen to confuse the Ravens defense on a series which resulted in a touchdown.

"It's not something that anybody has ever done before," Harbaugh told reporters. "The league will look at that type of thing, and I'm sure they'll make some adjustments and things like that.

"We wanted an opportunity to be able to identify who the eligible players were because what they were doing was they would announce the eligible player and Tom [Brady] would take it to the line right away and snap the ball before [we] even figured out who was lined up where.

"And that was the deception part of it. It was clearly deception."

The NFL has insisted that the strategy employed by the Patriots was perfectly legal.
