London Wasps edge Worcester Warrios

London Wasps overcome a spirited Worcester Warriors fightback to win a six-try thriller in the LV Cup.

London Wasps turned on the accelerator in the second half to squeeze past Worcester Warriors in a competitive LV Cup clash.

The home side made the perfect start with a try after just six minutes when prop Simon McIntyre made the most of an overthrown lineout to run home for the score.

Worcester capitalised on a yellow card given to Jonah Holmes to score two tries before the the break to gain a foothold in the match.

Jon Clarke and Andy Short went over but the Warriors could not maintain their advantage until the break.

Tommy Bell made the most of two penalties ten minutes before half time to give Wasps a one-point lead at the interval.

More accurate work from Bell, plus a superb finish from Jack Wallace, gave Wasps the upper hand quickly in the second half.

Substitute Ben Howard gave Worcester hope with a try ten minutes from time but a quick reply from Charlie Davies secured the victory for Wasps.
