Gloucester comeback stuns Sale Sharks

Gloucester overturn an 11-point half-time deficit to beat Sale Sharks 34-27 in the Aviva Premiership.

A strong second-half performance from Gloucester Rugby gave them a 34-27 win over Sale Sharks in the Aviva Premiership this afternoon.

Tom Arscott sprinted over inside the opening minute to put Sale ahead, before Chris Cusiter forced his way over for a second try for the visitors.

Greig Laidlaw kept the hosts in contention, adding two penalties before the break, but Luke McLean scored Sale's third try of the match to put the visitors 11 points up at half time.

Gloucester made a strong start to the second half, with Jonny May finding the line shortly after the restart, before Rob Cook put the hosts ahead for the first time in the match.

A penalty try inside the final 10 minutes put the result beyond doubt for the hosts, although Danny Cipriani added a late consolation try for the visitors.

The result moves Gloucester up to seventh in the table, while Sale sit 10th.
