Brian Noble 'having second thoughts' about Bradford Bulls return

Brian Noble says that he has accepted an informal offer to become the coach of Bradford Bulls but is now reconsidering that decision.

Former Great Britain coach Brian Noble has confirmed that he has provisionally accepted an offer from Bradford Bulls administrator Brendan Guilfoyl to take charge at Odsal in a caretaker capacity.

After Guilfoyl had made 16 members of staff redundant yesterday, sacked coach Mick Potter, who refused to remain at the club in an unpaid capacity, revealed that Noble had been lined up as his replacement.

Noble, 51, admits that he was approached and initially said yes, but is now having second thoughts.

"The administrator phoned me up, told me the situation and asked if I could help out for a while, maybe until the end of the season," Noble told The Guardian. "As a Bradfordian through and through who's been made a freeman of the city, and having spent 35 years at the club, I said 'yes'. That's been my only motive whatsoever, to try and help out."

He later added: "I've been thinking it over and it might just be too tough a gig."

Six-time title winners Bradford are currently eighth in the Super League table.
