Manchester United spend £500,000 on CCTV

Manchester United install new surveillance cameras at their training ground to allow manager Louis van Gaal to monitor the players.

Manchester United have spent £500,000 installing new security cameras at their training ground following a request for the technology from new manager Louis van Gaal.

The Dutchman ordered the equipment to be fitted around the club's training pitches at Carrington.

The Independent reports that the high definition pictures captured by the cameras will allow the manager to assess how fatigued players are during training.

The new cameras have been installed while the squad have been on their pre-season tour of the United States.
