Wolves to lose Bakary Sako to Africa Cup of Nations, Nouha Dicko not called up

Wolverhampton Wanderers confirm that top scorer Bakary Sako is off to the Africa Cup of Nations with Mali, but fellow countryman Nouha Dicko was overlooked.

Championship club Wolverhampton Wanderers have confirmed that they will lose top scorer Bakary Sako to the Africa Cup of Nations, but Mali teammate Nouha Dicko has missed out on a call-up.

The duo were both expected to be named in Les Aigles's 23-man squad for the tournament which runs from January 17 to February 8 in Equatorial Guinea, but Wolves will only be without Sako.

Dicko recently returned from injury and has scored in two straight victories for the Black Country club in his first starts in over two months.

Depending on Mali's progress in the tournament, Sako could miss up to five games.
