West Ham are ready to discuss a potential new contract with manager Sam Allardyce and are hopeful that a deal can be tied up in the near future.

Sam Allardyce is poised to hold contract talks with West Ham United after the club's hierarchy concluded that he is the right man to lead them forward.

Allardyce's contract is due to expire at the end of the season and discussions over an extension had been delayed by the Hammers board.

However, with the Premier League status all but secure for next year, the West Ham manager's future now seems more certain.

According to The Telegraph, the Upton Park executives are optimistic of concluding a deal in the coming days, if Allardyce does not demand an increase on his £2m-a-year salary.

Former Iron favourites Harry Redknapp and Paolo Di Canio have been linked with the Hammers job in recent weeks.
