Quique Flores hopes Gary Neville can restore Valencia "harmony"

Watford manager and former Valencia defender Quique Flores hopes that Gary Neville will "repair the harmony" at the La Liga side.

Watford manager Quique Flores has said that he hopes Gary Neville will "repair the harmony" at Valencia after being named the club's manager for the rest of the season.

The England assistant manager and former Manchester United defender joins brother Phil Neville on the coaching staff of the La Liga side after Nuno Espirito Santo resigned following a loss to Sevilla last weekend.

Flores, who spent the majority of his playing career at Valencia, told reporters: "For me it is important that Valencia recover as a club, achieve their ambitions and their fans are happy. I hope Gary Neville is able to repair the harmony between the club and the fans with some good results.

"It's not about nationality, it's about knowledge, it's not about whether you have played at a high level, it's about the attitude, it's about how you manage. If you can manage, you can manage amateurs, you can manage at the medium level, you can manage at the top level.

"It's possible to adapt. It's part of the world in football that we live in at the moment. We live in these kind of times. The coach moves and the players move and that's part of the new culture in football. Years ago people stayed in their own country and never moved. Everyone does now so you have to adapt."

Valencia sit ninth in the table, with two wins from their last five matches in the Spanish top flight.
