Deadline day key events
Man United vs. Liverpool: Bitter rivals 'set to battle' for Frenchman in January
Manchester United, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur are all reportedly interested in signing Paris Saint-Germain attacker Randal Kolo Muani during the January transfer window.
The France international has found it difficult to make his mark for PSG during the 2024-25 campaign, only managing two goals and one assist in 14 appearances in all competitions.
Kolo Muani is widely expected to be on the move during the winter market, with the 26-year-old potentially departing on loan, although PSG are thought to be keen for an obligation to buy to be included in any deal.
Man United continue to be linked with the striker, with the Red Devils thought to have a long-term interest in him.
Guardiola sets out January plans as Man City 'eye in-demand midfielder'
Manchester City are reportedly considering triggering the release clause of Real Sociedad midfielder Martin Zubimendi during the January transfer window due to their ongoing issues.
The Citizens were held to a 1-1 draw by Everton in England's top flight on Boxing Day and have now dropped down to seventh spot in the Premier League table, 14 points behind leaders Liverpool, who still have a game in hand.
Man City are facing the prospect of missing out on Champions League football for next season, and head coach Pep Guardiola has said that his club are planning to be active during the January transfer window.
"We have to, if we can, we have to add players definitely," Guardiola told Amazon Prime Video. "We struggle, especially in the back, in the middle. Saying that, i don't know it's going to happen.
Amorim's wish: Man United 'make official offer' for 'leading transfer target'
Manchester United have reportedly made an offer for Paris Saint-Germain defender Nuno Mendes.
The 22-year-old's contract with PSG is due to expire in the summer of 2026, and it is understood that he is considering leaving the French capital, with a number of clubs keeping a close eye on his situation.
Man United head coach Ruben Amorim has allegedly identified the Portugal international as his number one choice to fill the left-sided wing-back role at Old Trafford, which is proving to be a hugely problematic position for the Red Devils.
According to RMC Sport, negotiations between Mendes and PSG over a new deal 'are at a standstill', with the full-back keen on a fresh challenge at this stage of his career.
Juventus 'reject Rashford deal' with Man United teammate 'wanted instead'
Juventus have reportedly rejected the chance to sign unsettled forward Marcus Rashford, with the Old Lady more interested in bringing in his Manchester United teammate Joshua Zirkzee.
Rashford has been left out of Man United's last four matchday squads and is widely expected to leave Old Trafford in January, with the England international recently expressing a desire to seek pastures new.
According to The Sun, Juventus were recently contacted to discuss Rashford, but the Turin giants made it clear that they would not be interested in signing the Red Devils academy product at this moment in time.
However, the report claims that Juventus are keen on Zirkzee, with the Netherlands international also being heavily linked with a departure ahead of the winter transfer window.
Barca 'suffer major blow' in Olmo situation as Man United 'circle' for attacker
Manchester United are reportedly keeping a close eye on Dani Olmo's situation at Barcelona, with the Spain international potentially becoming available on a free transfer at the start of January.
Olmo returned to Barcelona, where he was a former youth-team player, over the summer, but the Catalan outfit were only able to register him until the end of the year due to financial issues.
Barcelona's inability to meet La Liga's wage cap restrictions meant that only a short-term registration could be put in place, and the Catalan team have allegedly suffered a major blow in their bid to keep hold of him.
According to BBC Sport, the club's appeal for the precautionary registration of Olmo for the second half of the 2024-25 campaign has been rejected.
Chiesa heading for Liverpool loan departure in January?
Liverpool may reportedly be offered the chance to loan out Federico Chiesa during the January transfer window.
When Liverpool committed to a £12.5m deal to sign the Juventus forward earlier in 2024, it was perceived that they had pulled off a major coup.
However, the Italy international has barely featured for Arne Slot's side courtesy of a succession of injury issues.
Chiesa has made just one start and three substitute outings in all competitions, all but 19 of his 123 minutes of action being accumulated in the EFL Cup.
January exit? Wolves boss delivers update on Man United, Arsenal-linked Cunha
Wolverhampton Wanderers head coach Vitor Pereira is hopeful that his club will be able to keep hold of Matheus Cunha in January amid the growing speculation surrounding his future.
Cunha, 25, has been one of the best performers in the Premier League during the 2024-25 campaign, scoring 10 goals and registering four assists in 18 appearances in the top flight of English football.
The Brazilian was outstanding against Man United on Thursday, scoring and providing an assist in Wolves' 2-0 win, while he also completed four successful dribbles and won four tackles in his team's impressive success.
Man United are believed to be keen on Cunha, while Arsenal are said to be lining up a January move, with Wolves facing a very difficult task when it comes to keeping hold of the versatile attacker.
Rashford update: PSG's stance on unsettled Man United forward 'revealed'
Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly not prepared to pay £50m for Marcus Rashford, with the French champions potentially pulling out of the race for the Manchester United forward.
Rashford has been left out of Man United's last four matchday squads, and the England international is widely expected to leave the 20-time English champions in the near future, potentially as early as January.
PSG are long-term admirers of the Red Devils academy product, with the Paris giants viewed as the favourites for the 27-year-old, who has scored seven times and registered three assists in 24 appearances at club level this term.
However, according to TEAMtalk, PSG have made it clear that they are unwilling to meet Man United's £50m asking price, while they are also reluctant to make a move due to Rashford's wages, which are in excess of £300,000 a week.
