Tottenham Hotspur considering move for Watford goalkeeper Ben Foster?

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly weighing up a move for 36-year-old Watford goalkeeper Ben Foster when his contract expires at the end of the season.

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly considering a surprise move for Watford goalkeeper Ben Foster in order to provide more competition for Hugo Lloris.

Only Burnley's Nick Pope and Liverpool's Alisson Becker have kept more clean sheets than Foster in the Premier League this season, with Saturday's stunning 3-0 win over Liverpool providing him with his ninth of the campaign.

The 36-year-old's tally comes despite Watford battling against relegation, having only moved out of the bottom three on goal difference courtesy of their triumph over the champions-elect this weekend.

Foster's contract is due to expire this summer and The Telegraph reports that Spurs are weighing up whether to sign the former Manchester United man on a free transfer at the end of the campaign.

Jose Mourinho is understood to want to increase the level of competition for Lloris, having seen Paulo Gazzaniga keep only two clean sheets in 18 games while deputising for the captain this season.

However, Foster may not be willing to trade a regular starting spot for a backup role, having played every single Premier League game for the Hornets since joining from West Bromwich Albion in 2018.
