Real Madrid 'to rival Tottenham Hotspur for Julian Nagelsmann'

Real Madrid are reportedly to rival Tottenham Hotspur for RB Leipzig head coach Julian Nagelsmann.

Real Madrid could reportedly rival Tottenham Hotspur for RB Leipzig head coach Julian Nagelsmann.

Nagelsmann has been touted as a possible replacement for Jose Mourinho at Spurs after a string of poor performances and results that has left the club ninth in the Premier League.

However, talkSPORT reports that Tottenham could face competition from Los Blancos, who are considering replacing Zinedine Zidane at the end of the season.

Question marks have been raised over Zidane's management style following the club's Super Cup semi-final defeat to Athletic Bilbao, an early exit from the Copa del Rey as well as their inconsistent form in La Liga.

Nagelsmann has enjoyed a successful spell at Leipzig since joining from Hoffenheim in 2016, seeing his side progress to become one of the top clubs in the Bundesliga.

However, the 33-year-old may feel that he has achieved everything that he can with the German outfit and with top clubs in Europe circulating, he may decide that this summer could be the right time to move on.

Even though both Tottenham and Real Madrid are potentially looking at appointing a new manager, nothing is expected to materialise before the end of this season.
