Tim Sherwood hits back at Glenn Hoddle's criticism of Tottenham Hotspur players

Tottenham Hotspur head coach Tim Sherwood defends his players following criticism from former manager Glenn Hoddle.

Tottenham Hotspur head coach Tim Sherwood has slammed former manager Glenn Hoddle for criticising the team's body language ahead of their defeat to Liverpool last weekend.

The 56-year-old, who was a pundit for Sky Sports during Spurs' 4-0 defeat on Sunday, stated that the players looked defeated before they stepped out onto the pitch at Anfield.

"It's been a long time since Glenn Hoddle has managed a team and the game has moved on significantly," Sherwood said in Friday's press conference. "I've been a pundit myself and it's easy to be critical when you've got nothing else to talk about."

Tottenham are currently sixth in the Premier League table, eight points adrift of a Champions League spot.
