Half-Time Report: West Ham United holding their own at Tottenham Hotspur

West Ham United create the better chances but it remains goalless in the London derby against Tottenham Hotspur at the break.

It remains goalless between Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United after 45 minutes at White Hart Lane.

The best early chance fell to the visitors when Stewart Downing drifted over an inviting cross that Kevin Nolan could only head wide.

Spurs tried their luck from distance through Gylfi Sigurdsson and Andros Townsend but did not really test Jussi Jaaskelainen in the Hammers' goal.

Just after the half-hour mark Paulinho was picked out by Townsend but, after a good first touch, he could not find the target.

West Ham then had the best opening of the half as Winston Reid rose highest to meet Mark Noble's corner but failed to head on target from 10 yards.

Moments before half time the visitors again came close when a well-worked free-kick routine saw Nolan volley past Hugo Lloris but wide of the goal.
