Southampton's latest signing Pablo Osvaldo has revealed that he is delighted to be reunited with manager Mauricio Pochettino.

The 27-year-old Italian striker joined the Saints from Roma on Sunday for a reported £15m fee.

Osvaldo, who previously played under Pochettino at Espanyol, is now looking forward to life in the Premier League.

"The season and a half that I shared with Mauricio was my best as a footballer," he told reporters. "I did well playing under him.

"It's great to work with Mauricio. He's a motivator. It feels great to be with someone who fully appreciates how I work."

Southampton started the new Premier League season with a 1-0 win at West Bromwich Albion on Saturday.
