Darren McGregor leaves Rangers by mutual consent months after being named player of the year by both the Glasgow club and his teammates at Ibrox.

Darren McGregor has departed Rangers only months after being named player of the year by both the Glasgow club and his teammates at Ibrox.

The 30-year-old signed for Gers last summer after leaving St Mirren, but has not played under new manager Mark Warburton.

A Rangers press statement confirmed that McGregor, who has made 50 appearances for the Teddy Bears, has left the club by mutual consent.

Warburton has been revamping his squad since being appointed in the summer, signing central defenders Rob Kiernan, Danny Wilson and Dominic Ball.
