Paris Saint-Germain defender Alex has insisted that the squad is focused ahead of this weekend's crucial Ligue 1 encounter with Valenciennes.

Les Parisiens will be crowned champions if they win at the Parc des Princes on Sunday and rivals Marseille fail to beat Bastia on Saturday.

"Of course this is the most important game of the season," the Brazilian told GMP. "All the players are preparing for this meeting. We've got all week to work. We worked hard today and will continue until Sunday to win.

"Everyone will look at the results of Marseille on Saturday, obviously, but for us, no matter, we must do the work to win on Sunday and be a champion."

PSG are aiming to win the Ligue 1 title for the first time since 1994.
