Newcastle United are reportedly interested in signing Queens Park Rangers attacker Matt Phillips when the winter transfer window opens in January.
The 24-year-old, who has also been linked with West Bromwich Albion, only has 18 months left on his current deal at Loftus Road and it is said to be unlikely that he will sign a new contract.
According to The Sun, Newcastle are targeting the attacker, who has scored four times and registered two assists in 19 Championship games this season.
Phillips, who has born in England but plays his international football for Scotland, joined the R's from Blackpool in the summer of 2013.
Newcastle have only won two of their 14 Premier League games this season and pressure is said to be building on head coach Steve McClaren.
