Newcastle United midfielder Mohamed Diame is said to be on the verge of sealing a £100,000-a-week switch to Qatari side Al-Gharafa.
The 32-year-old was released by the Magpies at the end of the last campaign, although manager Rafael Benitez has previously suggested that the club could reopen talks with the former Senegal international.
Benitez himself is yet to commit to a new contract beyond the end of this month, however, amid the ongoing uncertainty over Newcastle's ownership situation.
According to The Chronicle, Diame has decided not to wait any longer and has agreed to join Al-Gharafa on a two-year deal effective from July 1.
Diame has made 103 appearances in black and white since moving to St James' from Hull City in 2016.
