Napoli have reached the quarter-finals of the Coppa Italia thanks to a 1-0 win over Udinese at the Stadio San Paolo on Tuesday night.
The hosts, boasting a number of changes in a bid to keep players fresh for their Serie A title hopes, were held at bay by the opposition.
Udinese goalkeeper Simone Scuffet was not tested until the 25th minute, when he had to keep out a Jose Callejon strike.
Adam Ounas then came close with a stinging effort that beat the away stopper but bounced off the post and, come the half-time whistle, neither side had found a breakthrough.
The visitors also struggled in the final third, with Ryder Matos being the first to draw a save out of Napoli keeper Luigi Sepe two thirds into the game.
However, first blood was drawn by Maurizio Sarri's side in the 71st minute through Lorenzo Insigne, whose strike turned out to be the difference between the two sides.
Dries Mertens was the architect, slicing through the Zebrette defence with a diagonal through-ball to Insigne, who in turn bore down on goal and slotted past Scuffet at the far post.
The Partenopei will face the winner of Wednesday's last-16 clash between Atalanta BC and Sassuolo.
