Millwall manager Steve Lomas: "I can turn it round"

Steve Lomas believes that he can turn Millwall's season around after defeat at home to Middlesbrough this evening.

Millwall manager Steve Lomas has remained defiant despite being booed off after this evening's 2-0 defeat at home to Middlesbrough.

The Lions have only taken eight points since the start of November and just four clear of the Championship relegation zone heading into the packed Christmas schedule, which starts with a Boxing Day trip to Watford.

"Of course I can turn it round," Eurosport quotes Lomas as saying. "I understand fans want to win games of football and we have been on a pretty good run at home, but unfortunately our away form's been affecting us or we'd be a lot higher in the table.

"But we have been decent at home. We've got to remember that and the positives in that run - and we've got to bounce back away at Watford. We've got opportunities to bounce back over this Christmas period. It's a crucial period as there are so many games over a short space of time. You can pick up points and push yourself up the table.

"We've had a reaction all season from the players. We've had some disappointing performances and results but we've always been able to bounce back. They're all tough games but we've got two away games to get our away form going."

Millwall have lost six, drawn three and won one away from home this season.
