Man City put themselves firmly in the title picture with a narrow 1-0 win over reigning WSL Champions Chelsea before the international break.

The in-form Khadija Shaw scored the decisive goal at Kingsmeadow to condemn Chelsea to their first home league defeat since February 2021.

With eight matches left to play, Gareth Taylor's side are sitting level on 34 points with the Blues, who just have the edge due to goals scored.

Impressively, the Citizens have won their last 11 competitive matches, while keeping clean sheets in each of their previous five fixtures.

Man City will believe they can extend their winning run this weekend, having won all 15 of their league games against Everton in the WSL era.

Everton restored some much-needed belied before the international break, as they followed a 7-1 FA Cup win over Nottingham Forest with a 2-0 league victory against West Ham United.

Martina Piemonte and Aurora Galli netted late goals to beat the Hammers and clinch Everton's first home league win of the season.

Although they are currently sitting in ninth position, the Toffees boast a sizeable eight-point cushion to basement side Bristol City.

Brian Sorensen's side are now set to head on their travels, where they have picked up 10 of their 14 points in the WSL this season.

Although that record offers some encouragement, Everton have fallen to defeats in their last two away matches against Arsenal and Chelsea.

Team News

Man City are expected to be without defender Steph Houghton and midfielder Jill Roord due to ankle and knee injuries respectively.

Taylor could be tempted to select the same lineup that started the narrow win over Chelsea before the international break.

Shaw is currently leading the scoring charts in the WSL, and she will be looking to add to her 14-goal league tally when she leads the line against the Toffees.

As for the visitors, they may have to cope without the services of Sara Holmgaard, Karen Holmgaard, Emily Ramsey and Katrine Veje.

Piemonte could be presented with a starting spot after coming off the bench to score the opener in the 2-0 win against West Ham before the international break.

Arsenal loanee Kathrine Kuhl is set to make her fifth consecutive start, having quickly established herself in the Everton side following her arrival in January.
