Report: Liverpool to hijack Manchester United bid for Roberto Firmino

Liverpool are preparing a late bid for Hoffenheim midfielder Roberto Firmino ahead of primary suitors Manchester United, according to reports.

Liverpool have launched a last-minute bid to sign Hoffenheim's Roberto Firmino ahead of Manchester United, according to reports.

The 23-year-old has been repeatedly linked with the Red Devils in recent weeks following a fine season in Germany which saw him break into the Brazil national squad.

According to Brazilian newspaper Globo Esporte, however, the Anfield outfit have decided to step up their attempts to sign the £20m-rated midfielder from under the noses of their great rivals.

Roger Wittman, Firmino's agent, revealed on Monday that his client "will go to England" this summer.
