Bournemouth are reportedly not prepared to sell Josh King to Manchester United unless they can find a replacement.
Eddie Howe has confirmed that United have expressed an interest in the forward, who came through the youth setup at Old Trafford before making two outings for the first team.
However, Sky Sports News suggests that a transfer will not materialise if Bournemouth cannot find an alternative to the Norway international.
While Howe has Callum Wilson, Dominic Solanke and Sam Surridge at his disposal, the Cherries boss does not want to lose one of his key men with the club in a battle to remain in the Premier League.
United will have to bid in excess of £20m to conclude a deal for a player who still has just under 18 months remaining on his contract.
King has been sidelined for the past month with a hamstring injury.
