Some Manchester United players reportedly have doubts about whether interim boss Ralf Rangnick is the right man for the job at Old Trafford.

Some Manchester United players reportedly have doubts about whether interim boss Ralf Rangnick is the right man for the job at Old Trafford.

Small cliques are believed to have been formed in the dressing room, with a number of first-team players struggling to adapt to the German's 4-2-2-2 formation.

According to Sky Sports News, a source has told them that "they have the players at Manchester United who are ready to play, but they don't have the coach to get the best out of those players".

The report adds that Rangnick's plans were disrupted in December when the club's Carrington training complex was closed due to a coronavirus outbreak, which the 63-year-old believes has had a negative effect on their performances.

The German is also having to deal with 'tension' in the United dressing room caused by the summer signing of Cristiano Ronaldo, while eight players are believed to be looking to leave Old Trafford as soon as possible.

Rangnick suffered his first defeat as United boss when they were beaten 1-0 at home against Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League on Monday night, which leaves the Red Devils four points behind the top four and a staggering 22 points behind league leaders Manchester City.
