Everton defender Leighton Baines describes former boss David Moyes as a "great manager" and believes that he will do a good job at Manchester United.

Everton defender Leighton Baines has backed former manager David Moyes to do a good job at Manchester United.

The 28-year-old, who is on international duty with England, has nothing but praise for the Scot.

Baines reveals that the Everton players were hoping that Moyes would sign a new deal at Goodison Park, but wishes him well on his move to United.

Baines said: "His contract was running down so there was a possibility but we were hoping he stayed.

"He didn't in the end and we wish him well. I'm sure he will do a good job at Manchester United, he's a great manager."

Baines is expected to feature in England's friendly against Brazil tonight.
