Erling Braut Haaland breaks another Premier League goalscoring record, becoming the first player to score hat-tricks in three consecutive home games in the competition.

Erling Braut Haaland has broken yet another Premier League goalscoring record courtesy of his hat-trick for Manchester City against Manchester United this afternoon.

The 22-year-old continued his prolific start to the season by claiming his third matchball of the campaign already, nodding home from a corner for the opener before applying two clinical one-touch finishes with his left foot either side of half time.

In doing so, Haaland has now become the first player in Premier League history to score a hat-trick in three consecutive home games in the competition.

The Norway international also helped himself to a treble in matches against Nottingham Forest and Crystal Palace, with Sunday's hat-trick meaning that he has now scored nine goals in four home league games for City.

Haaland also became the first Man City player to score a hat-trick in the Manchester derby since Francis Lee in December 1970, and only the third overall.

However, that tally grew to four less than 10 minutes later as Phil Foden also helped himself to a hat-trick for the rampant hosts.

The latest record adds to an already-significant list of feats Haaland has achieved since arriving in the Premier League, with the striker now boasting 14 goals in just nine top-flight appearances for Man City.
