Gabriel Jesus up against Kylian Mbappe, Ousmane Dembele for Golden Boy award

Manchester City and Brazil striker Gabriel Jesus is named in the final three for the Golden Boy award alongside Kylian Mbappe and Ousmane Dembele.

Manchester City striker Gabriel Jesus has been named in the final three-man shortlist for the Golden Boy award.

The 20-year-old will vie with Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe and Barcelona midfielder Ousmane Dembele for the title.

Jesus, who joined the Premier League outfit from Brazilian giants Palmeiras in January, has been in impressive form this season, scoring eight goals in eight appearances.

The Golden Boy award, run by Italian newspaper Tuttosport, is presented to Europe's most impressive footballer under the age of 21.

Former winners of the prestigious accolade include Lionel Messi, Wayne Rooney, Paul Pogba and Sergio Aguero.

Marcus Rashford, who finished runner-up last year to Portugal midfielder Renato Sanches, had been nominated again in the original 24-man shortlist but failed to make the final three this time around.

Six English nominees were originally named in the shortlist, with Liverpool's Dominic Solanke and Joe Gomez, Everton's Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Kyle Walker-Peters of Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United's Reece Oxford all included alongside Rashford.
