Liverpool owners 'hold talks with club officials over new ticket prices'

Liverpool's owners FSG reportedly hold talks with club officials about whether to review the new ticket price structure after Saturday's walkout at Anfield.

Liverpool's American owners Fenway Sports Group have reportedly held talks with club officials regarding the re-structuring of ticket prices for next season.

Around 10,000 supporters walked out of Anfield in the 77th minute of the Reds' 2-2 draw with Sunderland on Saturday in protest against the hike in prices.

The Merseyside outfit announced last week that ticket prices for six Category A games, which include matches against Manchester United and Everton, will rise from £59 to £77 next season.

The walkout occurred just a few minutes before Liverpool let a 2-0 lead slip as Sunderland came back with two goals of their own to claim a point.

Now, according to Sky Sports News, FSG has contacted the club to discuss whether to review the new pricing structure.

Chief executive Ian Ayre recently defended the re-structure, pointing out that 45% of matchday tickets are decreasing, while 64% of season tickets are reducing or remaining the same price.
