Liverpool are reportedly waiting to learn the extent of Emre Can's injury after the midfielder left Anfield on crutches following a dramatic win in the Europa League.

Liverpool are reportedly waiting to learn the extent of Emre Can's injury after the midfielder left Anfield on crutches following a dramatic night in the Europa League.

Can was substituted with 10 minutes to go in his side's quarter-final second leg against Borussia Dortmund on Thursday night.

Liverpool looked down and out in the first half when Dortmund swiftly went 3-1 up on the night, but the Reds managed to draw level through Philippe Coutinho and Mamadou Sakho.

In the first of four additional minutes, Dejan Lovren headed home the winner to give Liverpool a 4-3 triumph on the night and a 5-4 win on aggregate.

After the match, Can was seen at Anfield wearing a protective boot, and according to Sky Sports News, the German international will undergo an MRI scan today.

Can is banned for this Sunday's Premier League match away to Bournemouth, but is eligible for next week's Merseyside derby against Everton.
