The Egyptian national team remain upbeat about injured Mohamed Salah's chances of playing in the World Cup.

The Egyptian national team have declared that they are "optimistic" Liverpool star Mohamed Salah will be fit for the World Cup, despite suffering a suspected dislocated shoulder in the Champions League final.

The Premier League's top goalscorer was substituted in the 31st minute of the Reds' 3-1 defeat to Real Madrid following a tussle with Sergio Ramos.

Initial reports suggested that Salah is in danger of missing this summer's World Cup finals, but a tweet from Egypt suggests that team physician Mohammed Abu Ola is not ready to write off the winger's chances of making the finals just yet.

"Dr. Mohammed Abu Ola, an elected physician, reported that the Liverpool Medical Service had informed him after conducting a radiation on the shoulder of Salah and the result was that the player was alarmed at the shoulder bands he added that according to this diagnosis he was optimistic that Salah would be attached to the national team in the World Cup," talkSPORT's translation of the tweet reads.

Reds boss Jurgen Klopp previously described Salah's injury as "very bad for us" and "very bad for Egypt" but tests are still being carried out to assess the extent of the damage.
