Espanyol edge out Levante

Espanyol pull further away from the relegation zone in La Liga with a 3-2 win at home to Levante.

Espanyol have edged further away from the relegation zone in La Liga with a 3-2 win against Levante at home.

Juan Forlin headed in a corner to give the hosts a first-half lead before Juan Garcia capitalised on some poor defending to draw Levante level soon after the restart.

Christian Stuani put Espanyol back in front in the 67th minute with his header and it was 3-1 two minutes later, thanks to Sergio Garcia's composed finish.

Obafemi Martins pulled a goal back for the visitors with three minutes left to play, but the home side held on for the victory.
