David Beckham admits that he cannot help but get wrapped up in the drama of transfer deadline day.

David Beckham has admitted that he could not take his eyes off the transfer window saga on Friday.

The Los Angeles Galaxy midfielder said that the deadline day comings and goings have taken on a new life since he left European football but he cannot help but get excited.

Beckham said: "At Manchester United we were never really aware of it. The manager always took care of that and I was never part of a countdown so to speak.

"It's always exciting, it's exciting to watch, because there's always a couple of panic buys right at the end and people trying to rush players through.

"It's exciting to watch but I'm sure it's not too exciting to be part of."

The 37-year-old will turn his attention back to Major League Soccer this weekend as his Galaxy side go up against the Vancouver Whitecaps.
